In eurythmy, limb movement is directly related to speech production and musical laws; it goes beyond a space dance - it is a space dance. It is not just an external movement – we are driven to great internal mobility. When listening to music, we experience within ourselves the contrast between the high and the low, the short and the long, the forte and the piano; we experience the melodic phrase and the richness of harmonic environments. In speech, we walk through the inexhaustible landscape of consonants, and the singing of vowels with their very particular qualities, among many other elements. All this internal movement is externalized by the gesture of the arms, by the forms traversed in space and in the relationships created during the movement between people or in relation to the surrounding space itself in eurythmy. One of its main points is the rhythmic exercise between the poles, the experience of the extremes and the healthy search for a dynamic balance between them.

In eurythmy, gestures are not an arbitrary creation, but the expression of comprehensive laws of movement condensed in the microcosm of the human organism. Eurythmy inserts the animic, the internal movement, in universal laws, thus acting in the reconnection of the human being to a broader reality.

But to really know what eurythmy is, it's best to do it!

The social vocation of Eurythmy

Eurythmy plays a very important role as a tool in the development of social awareness. On the one hand, we are bombarded with information, excessive sensory impressions that desensitize us to everything subtle, it becomes increasingly difficult to hear the other, because we have a lot of internal noise. On the other hand, we find ourselves increasingly isolated from deep human contact because we are in a process of increasing individualization - which is necessary, because on the way to freedom we need to leave behind everything that is meant by external codes of conduct, but this it has the serious side effect of isolation and misunderstanding between individualities that become increasingly characteristic. As a possible healing tool in the way of creating the “between”, the reunion, but now from the individual conscience, eurythmy proposes many exercises. In group movement, we have to adapt their movement to that of others: the fastest has to slow down and make space for the other; for a joint form to be successful, everyone has to fulfill their role, with initiative, and not wait for everything to resolve itself. Instead of pointing out the mistakes of others, you learn to correct yourself and understand yourself, etc. At  colors of each, their particular dispositions and inclinations contribute to the creation of a work together.

Any eurythmic form performed together is the confrontation of my truth with the truth of the other, of his idea of how it should be done, and the result is always a third possibility, incapable of being thought at first, but which happens through the encounter .

O que a Euritma


Dos mais simples princípios criados no ano de 1912, a Euritmia vem se desdobrando em quatro grandes campos de atuação: como arte teatral e artística; como complemento de educação nas escolas, instituições e formações inspiradas pela Antroposofia; no âmbito terapêutico em clínicas e consultórios e no âmbito social auxiliando na integração e desenvolvimento de integrantes de uma determinada instituição ou empresa.
